MAGHERAFELT STUDENTS ARE SALT OF THE EARTH

Students from schools within the Magherafelt Learning Partnership who are the first recipients of the Salt of the Earth Award.

St. Mary’s Grammar School, Magherafelt was the host venue for a recent visit of the Salters’ Company to the area.  Representatives from the Salters’ Company and other London Livery Companies were in town to launch a new award within the Magherafelt Learning Partnership.  

The award – known as the Salt of the Earth Award – will be presented annually by each school to one student who has made outstanding personal efforts in serving the local, national and/or international community. The students who have been selected as the first recipients of the award are: Fearghal McErlean (Kilronan School), Simone McGill (Magherafelt High School), Ciaran Burns (St. Pius X College), Laura McKenna (St. Mary’s Grammar School), John Stewart (Rainey Endowed School) and Gillian Johnson (Sperrin Integrated College).
