From the 18 January until the 12 February, forty Year 9 St Mary’s students were involved in the first block of a Shared Education Signature Project with Year 9 students from our partner schools in the Magherafelt Learning Partnership.  The students participated in a series of four drama lessons centred on respecting diversity and dealing with conflict.  Students greatly enjoyed their experiences of learning in conjunction with one another.  Students also relished the opportunities offered: to play games, devise role plays, improve their communication skills, attend lessons in other schools and, most importantly, make new friends (not to mention getting to miss some of their “normal” lessons!).  These students are now looking forward to their participation in the project next year, while the next set of forty students look forward to starting the project on the 22 February.
