Year 13 pupils pictured with their teacher Ms Bolger
Congratulations to fourteen of our Year 12 pupils and eight of our Year 13 pupils who recently took part in the British Physics Olympiad competitions. Year 12 pupils completed the GCSE Physics Challenge while the Year 13 pupils completed the AS Physics Challenge.
Both competitions involved pupils completing a one hour paper consisting of multiple-choice and short answer sections that tested their knowledge and understanding of basic physical principles. Participation in the competitions provided pupils with the opportunity to stretch their lateral thinking skills and apply fundamental physical principles to novel situations.
“Congratulations to the pupils for their participation, the standard was very high this year. Particular congratulations to those who achieved their Bronze & Silver Awards.” P Bolger
Congratulations to Matthew Larkin, Conan Quinn and Aaron Ball who all achieved a Bronze Award in the AS Challenge. Congratulations also to Barry McErlean who achieved a Silver Award in the GCSE Challenge and to Mary Lagan, Micheál McLaughlin and Anna Ledgewood who all achieved a Bronze Award in the GCSE Challenge.
