Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025

Seachtain na Gaeilge or Irish Language week was in full swing in St Mary’s. This year, pupils had a variety of activities to enjoy including Biongó trí mheán na Gaeilge, a Céilí, a Deir Ó Grádaigh competition, a design your own seamróg competition as well as a Tráth na gCeist all delivered through the medium of Irish.

Our junior school pupils had the opportunity to sit their ‘Cúpla Focal’ and ‘Fáinne Airgid’ speaking exams whilst our Year 14 completed their ‘Fáinne Óir.’

We also had some light fun with facepainting as well as a ‘Guess how many Milseáin Glas’ are in the jar competition where the whole school took part writing their guesses go hiomlán in Irish!

Y13 Caragh and Y14 Darcie also delivered superb bilingual assemblies throughout the week to get us all in the spirit for Lá Fhéile Pádraig.
