After losing their opening game to Omagh CBS by one point, the Year 8 boys dusted themselves down to go on a run that would lead them all the way to the Martin O’Farrell Cup.

The team defeated St. Ronan’s, Lurgan in the second group game meaning they qualified for the quarter-final where they had a convincing win over St. Patrick’s, Armagh.  This set up a semi-final

against Oisin McGrath champions, St. Patrick’s, Maghera.

St. Mary’s played against the breeze in the first half and held St. Patrick’s, Maghera scoreless.  It looked like the woodwork was going to deny St. Mary’s, but they fell over the line with a last minute point from Rory Small.

After an edgy start to the final, the St. Mary’s boys emerged winners against St. Ronan’s with a score of 4:5-1:0.
