A Sixth Form pupil from St. Mary’s Grammar School has won the Concern Worldwide Fundraising Newcomer Award. 

Hugh McKenna was invited to an award ceremony in Dublin alongside his teacher, Miss U Burns, Head of RE,and very proud family, mother Carmel and sister Hannah. Huge received the Fundraising Newcomer Award for going ‘above and beyond’.

Staff and pupils of St. Mary’s Grammar School raised the phenomenal total of £8315 in 2016.

Hugh’s efforts, alongside the three other CONCERN ambassadors, Caoimhe McKay, Ciara Cassidy and Conall Devlin meant that in 2016, staff and pupils of St. Mary’s Grammar School raised the phenomenal total of £8315. This money will be used help Concern Worldwide transform the lives of people living in the world’s poorest countries.
