THE GREAT SCHOOL CLEAN UP

Posted on 29th September 2018 | GeneralNews

As part of the Muiredach Cross and John Paul II Awards, nine pupils from St. Mary’s Grammar School gave up their Saturday morning on 29 September 2018 to lend a hand at New Row Primary School, Castledawson.

The pupils painted railings, fences and tyres in the playground, and helped to tidy up the garden.  Miss Burns, Head of Religion, noted that it benefited both the St. Mary’s students and New Row Primary School as the pupils developed leadership skills and experienced teamwork in action.  Year 11 pupil, Margarida Cardoso Paciencia, who is returning to New Row to help further, commented: “It felt great to be helping the community and having fun at the same time.  I’m really looking forward to going back.”
